A selective investment policy

Rubis Energie, which historically specialised in the distribution of liquefied gas, has expanded its distribution to other energies (service station networks, aviation and marine fuels, commercial fuel oil, lubricants) and bitumens.

The Rubis Group has always pursued a strategy of holding “niche” positions in activities that are generally neglected or neglected by integrated refining groups.

Rubis Energie tends to be present throughout the distribution chain, from supply to the end user. By controlling the complete supply chain (trading unit, import terminals, storage and final distribution), Rubis Energie makes the energy they need accessible to its customers for the long term.

Today, the Rubis Group, which has strong commitments in terms of social and environmental responsibility, also focuses on low or no carbon activities that will enable it to reduce its carbon footprint as well as those of its service providers and customers.

Two complementary activities:

“Support  &  Services” and “Retail & Marketing”

“Support  &  Services” activity

Includes all infrastructure, transportation, procurement and service activities that support distribution and marketing activities. It includes refining, trading-supply and shipping activities for petroleum products.

These activities are generally carried out by 10 fully owned vessels, including 5 bitumen tankers, 7 time-charter vessels (oil and liquefied gas) and a refinery with an annual theoretical capacity of around 800kT.

“Retail & Marketing” activity

Mainly located in Europe, the Caribbean and Africa, the Group’s strategy consists of:

  • Ensuring its positioning by controlling its logistics by intervening throughout the distribution chain from supply to the end user;
  • Controlling its investments by developing in structurally energy-importing and growing areas, with a strong position in mainly regulated markets, thereby facilitating margin stability.
