What we do

Energy distribution

Markets

Our energy distribution operations encompass the distribution of fuels, heating oil, lubricants, liquefied gases, and bitumen (the Retail & Marketing business), as well as upstream logistics—including product sourcing, maritime transport, and refining activities in the French West Indies via our stake in SARA (the Support & Services business).

It is this control over the entire supply chain—from product procurement to the end user—that enables us to provide our customers with reliable, long-term access to energy.

Retail fuels

Present in 23 countries, primarily across Africa and the Caribbean, Rubis Energie supports the mobility needs of its customers every day through a comprehensive range of fuels and vehicle energy solutions. The company markets high-performance fuels designed to optimise engine efficiency, enhance engine protection, and help reduce fuel consumption and associated emissions. In selected markets, Rubis Energie also offers lower-carbon alternatives, including renewable fuels that support the energy transition.

With a network of nearly 1,200 service stations operating to international standards, Rubis Energie provides far more than just fuel. Its stations feature convenience stores, food service offerings, everyday essentials and complementary services designed to enhance the customer experience. In several European countries, Rubis Energie also distributes LPG autogas through an extensive network of partner stations, helping to diversify the mobility solutions available to motorists.

Aviation fuels

Rubis Energie supplies aviation fuel to airlines, airport operators and aviation stakeholders, delivering the highest standards of safety, quality and reliability.

To meet the demanding operational requirements of the aviation sector, the Group leverages recognised logistics expertise and strategically located infrastructure positioned close to customer operations. This includes storage facilities located within or near airports, rigorous management of strategic fuel stocks, and supply solutions tailored to the specific requirements of each market.

Through its strong control of the supply chain, Rubis Energie ensures continuous product availability and reliable service, supporting the efficient operation of airlines, airports and the wider aviation industry.

Commercial & industrial energy solutions

Rubis Energie provides energy solutions to businesses across a wide range of sectors, including industry, agriculture, hospitality, construction and maritime transport. Through a high-performance logistics network and a strong local presence, the Group ensures a reliable supply of fuels, heating fuels and marine fuels that meet the highest international standards.

To support its customers on their energy transition journey, Rubis Energie also offers hybrid solutions combining conventional energy sources with solar power and biofuels. These solutions help reduce carbon emissions while maintaining the reliability, operational continuity and energy security that businesses depend on.

By leveraging its operational expertise and close customer relationships, Rubis Energie delivers tailored energy solutions that address the specific needs of each industry and market, helping businesses improve efficiency while preparing for a lower-carbon future.

Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG)

Rubis Energie supplies propane and butane in both cylinder and bulk formats to residential customers, businesses and public authorities. Easy to store and transport, LPG plays a vital role in many regions, including remote areas and communities with limited access to conventional energy networks.

Versatile, accessible and reliable, LPG supports a wide range of domestic, commercial and industrial applications while helping reduce dependence on traditional fuels such as wood and charcoal.

As a lower-emission energy source, LPG contributes to improved air quality and supports the transition towards more sustainable energy solutions. Through its extensive distribution network and local expertise, Rubis Energie helps provide safe, efficient and accessible energy to the communities it serves.

Bitumen solutions

Rubis Energie supplies bitumen, modified bitumen and emulsions for the construction and maintenance of road infrastructure across Africa and Europe.

Through an integrated value chain combining sourcing, storage, maritime transportation and local distribution, the Group delivers reliable, efficient and high-quality service to both public and private sector customers.

Supported by strong technical expertise and operational know-how, Rubis Energie helps infrastructure stakeholders successfully deliver projects of all sizes, contributing to the development, maintenance and resilience of transport networks in the regions where it operates.

Sustainable heating in the Channel Islands

To heat your home while combating climate change, Rubis distributes EcoHeat100, a 100% renewable domestic heating oil. This second generation biofuel is made from renewable and sustainable raw materials, such as used cooking oils and residual fats. It offers a 90% reduction in CO₂ emissions compared with conventional diesel, with no odors or fine particles.

Vitogaz fights deforestation in Madagascar

In 60 years, 45% of natural forests have been destroyed, mainly to produce charcoal and firewood for cooking. 90% of Malagasy households use this source of energy, which can be purchased daily in small quantities. To combat this scourge, Vitogaz Madagascar is offering consumers the opportunity to buy retail gas (from 500g to 2.5kg) to spread their expenses. The scheme, which has been in place since 2018, helps to combat deforestation, protect biodiversity and prevent respiratory diseases.
